The Data Visualization lab at Beckman Institute provided us with a 3d Comet scanners and software to scan the canoe hull, outrigger, and mast. The scanned data was transferred over to Geomagic software to clean and patch holes. The next step was to put data into Zbrush software in order to export the data as image maps to project onto a model with less vertices. The final step is to transfer the decimated model with the image (UV) maps into Maya software to compile for animation and augmented reality.
